About

Mycelium Work LLC was founded by Justin Puppe as an exploration into fungi, biological materials, and the natural systems that shape the world around us.
What began as a passion for mushrooms grew into a deeper interest in mycelium, cultivation, material behavior, and the ways nature can inspire new approaches to real-world challenges. Early work focused on hands-on mushroom cultivation, biological materials, and learning directly from natural systems.
Over time, that curiosity expanded beyond cultivation into broader questions around sustainability, environmental systems, water, waste, and how natural materials interact with the world around them.
Mycelium Work represents the foundation of that journey. It reflects the early curiosity, experimentation, and hands-on biological materials background that helped shape Justin Puppe’s path as a founder and environmental technology builder.
Today, Mycelium Work remains part of the origin story which is a reminder that meaningful innovation often begins with curiosity, observation, and a willingness to learn from nature.

About the Founder
Founder | Mycelium Work LLC
My name is Justin Puppe, founder of Mycelium Work LLC.
My work started with a real curiosity for fungi, mushroom cultivation, and biological materials. What began as something I was simply fascinated by slowly became a much deeper path in my life.
Through hands-on cultivation, experimenting, failing, learning, and continuing to show up, I started to see fungi as more than mushrooms. They became a way for me to understand nature, materials, transformation, and how complex systems work.
Mycelium Work represents the beginning of that journey. It is where I learned to work directly with natural systems, think through biological materials, and build the foundation that continues to shape how I see the world today.
Over time, that foundation has led me into broader environmental work, but Mycelium Work will always be part of the origin story. It reminds me that meaningful ideas often start with curiosity, observation, and the willingness to keep going even when the path is uncertain.
